As a parent, it is your duty to ensure your child is always safe. This means you must ensure the little one doesn’t get hurt, doesn’t play with dangerous things, doesn’t ingest items that could do harm, and doesn’t access things that are inappropriate for his age – like inappropriate websites. It is up to you to ensure that your child has a safe online experience.

How do you reach this goal? Why you do what I always do – turn to software and see if there is an application out there that can lend a helping hand. The InfoWorks Technology-developed Family Cyber Alert is just such an application. Here is the functionality you can expect to get from Family Cyber Alert:

- Family Cyber Alert records everything. It records emails, instant messages, the websites your child visits, what applications he launches, what keys he pressed (keystroke recording).
- At regular intervals of time Family Cyber Alert will take a screenshot.
- Family Cyber Alert can block instant messaging, can block access to certain sites, can block the child from accessing certain applications.
- Family Cyber Alert can send alerts to you by email.
- Family Cyber Alert hides out of sight so your child doesn’t know you’re monitoring him. The child will not see Family Cyber Alert in the Start Menu or in the Control Panel. This means you will have to uninstall Family Cyber Alert from the command line.
- Family Cyber Alert is password protected. To turn off the app the correct password has to be provided.

Before you go get Family Cyber Alert and put it to the test, take a look at the following technical details:
Download – the download weighs in at some 2.4MB, which means it will take very little time for the download to complete.
Installation – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, Family Cyber Alert provides support for Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7.
Limitations – you can use Family Cyber Alert free of charge for a trial period of 7 days.

Family Cyber Alert is an easy to use application that lets you monitor your child’s PC and internet usage and lets you restrict access to sites and applications.
